VCA ART 2022

Sophie Morrow

Master of Fine Art

My work investigates language, body and voice, to create intimate and unsettling moments of
contemplation. My practice is influenced by the internet, poetry, performance, ritual, human and
non-human connection, occult practices, queer theory and feminism. Seeking to contribute to
contemporary queer and feminist discourse, I consider power structures, connection and
futurity in my work.

For my Master’s research I have created a virtual reality that visualises the challenges queerness and
feminism put to patriarchy. My research envisions the introduction of ‘chaos’ to patriarchal
structures, using a mess of body and language.
