Excuse Me playfully explores the absurdity of navigating contemporary digital spaces. As I scroll, tap, and swipe across information today, I think about the increased speed at which we sift through digital content, and the impact this has on present-day attention spans. I am captivated by the principles of design and techniques used in advertising; captivated by the way they can both direct and hold my attention. In each work, I construct a set and perform for the camera. I'm interested in how gesture and pose can communicate complex ideas, emotions and narratives reflective of modern life. Whilst I create my work, I think about touch, desire, colour, form, interaction, distance and trying to find my way within a world that feels increasingly digital.
