‘Lines …They are really there, in us and around us. Indeed there is no escaping them, for in any attempt to flee we only lay another one.’

Largely influenced by Tim Ingold’s philosophies, this body of work is an exploration in repetitive processes and patterns with a focus on forms and colour. The textural materials of clay and rope bring an organic sensibility to my work, allowing movement, fluidity and repetition to come through during the making process. The use of bright and bold colours creates a sense of playfulness, while a connection to the natural world is maintained through form, texture and an accumulation of lines.
