My practice consists of thick, textural abstract paintings alongside multimedia digital works and ambient industrial noise. My work explores the sensations and behaviour of the brain/mind in a physical form. Combining old home video footage with video games, I explore my love of food and the potential of the human mind. I create work which is there to be enjoyed. For me, art is about trying to hit the right sensors in the brain to make you feel ‘something’. When you eat pavlova and enjoy it, there is not much to think about. My work, however, attempts to answer why it tastes good to the brain – something which I presume is inexplicable.
