VCA ART 2022

Claire Price

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting)

My work is a vessel that engages with individual restoration by taking in an amalgam of thought processes and happenings. Often presented with a detailed and refined finish in painting and drawing, the work continuously reveals themes of narrative, sentimentality and longing. Embracing the body in ways that both hone in on and extend beyond figuration.

This graduation work is remedial for me, playing on the desire to reclaim misplaced and lost passions. I lean into allegory by appropriating imagery and recontextualising narrative.
