VCA ART 2022

Nicholas Currie

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting)

I as an artist paint, perform and leave remnants to make art . My artworks are categorised as large non-figurative paintings, figurative sculptures or performative mark making influenced by dance or the movement of the body from actions of labour. Conceptually all artworks are linking to the connections to the perspectives I as a mixed Indigenous Australian and European man have with the body, place or social and cultural politics that surround my thinking and my communities contemporary life's. I make art for my community, for the past, future and the past.

We also acknowledge and extend our respect to the Traditional Owners of all lands on which our work is viewed, shared and enjoyed, and to all Elders, past, present and emerging.
