VCA ART 2022

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting)

My ideas mostly form as simple thoughts, like clouds rolling across the sky and popping into your brain. This can occur through conversations with close friends, lived experiences, or mindlessly browsing the internet.

Working with absurd imagery and content is a way for me to explore a universe that can often seem at times to have a purposeless and chaotic nature. This notion is reflected in my work by disrupting the familiarness that we often attach to objects, people, and images that are recognisable. These new familiarly unfamiliar objects and imagery are used either alone or in conjunction to achieve some kind of threshold. Recently, this has been using some cinematic themes of horror and humour to create a type of fictitious narrative.
